LECTURE
Life happens
Psychology as a human response to the realities of life
Life is an autonomous process. It is not the individual who is autonomous (that is, Corona has just shown, just a modern desire), but life itself is autonomous. It appears on its own, follows its own path and ends on its own, being different for everyone and, at the same time, following a certain pattern, a general form. Human suffering arises when we want to escape from this pattern and fight it with our stubbornness (in the modern diction: our life plan).
For psychology, therapy and counseling, this means that if they really want to alleviate suffering, they need to focus on life and their circumstances, rather than the wishes (attachments) of clients.
With his model of “Life and its levels of consciousness”, Wilfried Nelles has developed a framework that can serve as guidance. He will present this structure and give ideas about practical work with it.
The book on the topic:
Wilfried Nelles: The world we live in. The conscience and the path of the soul. Innenwelt Verlag, Cologne 2020.
